Jill Meyer, Attorney

Jill Meyer has been practicing law since 2006.  She has been extremely successful at resolving client's issues without the need for court intervention, but she is ready to aggressively represent clients in the courtroom if settlement efforts are not successful.  Her goal is to resolve each client's conflict as quickly and efficiently as possible. Jill has extensive experience representing clients dealing with divorce, custody, child support, division of marital and non-marital assets, modifications of parenting time, domestic abuse, step-parent adoption and grandparent rights.

Prior to joining Capistrant Law, P.A., Jill practiced primarily in family law but also practiced in areas including real estate, landlord-tenant, personal injury, DWI defense, and basic estate planning.

Jill was born and raised in Brookings, South Dakota. She received her law degree from Creighton School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska and received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota, Mankato. In 2004, Jill was a law clerk for Magistrate Thomas D. Thalken at the United States District Court of Nebraska in Omaha, NE.

Jill is actively involved in the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) and was the 2015-2016 Chair of the MSBA Family Law Section.  Jill also served as Chair of the 2016 Family Law Institute, she is a member of the AFCC, a member of the Cooperative Practice Network, and volunteers regularly with the Volunteer Lawyers Network.  Jill was also on the steering committee from 2011-2013 to introduce Early Case Management and roll out ICMCs and ENEs for Mille Lacs County.  Jill lives in in the Twin Cities with her husband and two (2) children.
